And I cannot wait! The kids are driving me absolutely nuts! There is no reason to try to teach anything new, because they are not listening. So here I sit, at my computer, while I have 5th graders acting like idiots in my classroom. ::sighs:: I am so ready for summer vacation!
My band and orchestra spring concert/field trip was a success and it is now over, so I can mark that off the list.
My musical theater show is next Tuesday. I'm crossing my fingers that my kids keep it together. If so, it should be a good show.
The stupid talent show next Friday, and I wish I wasn't in charge of it. I still have the looming task of figuring out who made it and what order they will go in. I can tell you right now, though, that there is no way I am allowing 5 Taylor Swift songs to be sung all the way through. I really don't mind her, but that is too much of the same thing. I'm thinking that I will let all of them go, but only allow them to sing the first verse and the chorus. This is better than cutting half on them, isn't it?
Ah, and field day is right in the middle. I share my field day responsibilities with another teacher, but she only has to be here half days on Wednesday, so I am in for an interesting morning next week for sure. Normally, field day would be fine. I enjoyed it well enough last year. But this year there are some kids in my group and high maintenance is an understatement.
7 more days of school after today. Then I am temporarily free!
